Design of strategic operating model for a major European Insurer, with the objectives of standardising investment operations, improving control and maximising efficiency. Led the programme to implement the new model, including stabilising existing platforms whilst leading the migration to a new third- party investment accounting and reporting platform.
Developed and implemented the simplification of the organisational design of a Global Insurer and lowered the overall cost of delivery. Led the transition to a shared services model ensuring realignment of reporting lines, process flows, and controls between Group and Local entities.
Directed the strategic improvements to enable further cost optimisation at a European Insurer and designed valuation controls to govern valuation of assets. Developed an oversight model for the performance of third-party providers reducing the period-end close process and delivered improvements and stabilisation to the investment operations control environment.
Led the development of a new Investment Operations function for a Global Insurer (including leading the team on an interim basis) – involving operating model design, recruitment of a new team and team development. Key outcomes were improved controls and operational enablement to deliver new investment opportunities more efficiently while enabling strategic growth of the client’s Life & Pensions business.
Developed and implemented oversight and governance frameworks to improve investment operations at a Life Insurer to meet best practice in line with regulator expectations. The new frameworks led to the enhancement of performance culture from third-party suppliers leading to better customer satisfaction.
Redesigned operational processes to improve business onboarding (for example structured transactions and new asset classes) at a UK-based Global Insurer. Led the development, testing, and implementation of a new business tool and standardised operational processes providing better performance measurement, improved speed of delivery, and enhanced metrics.
Strategic review of a Technology Provider's platform, identifying unit-linked market opportunities and designing a target operating model to deliver business growth. Prepared a strategy and roadmap for delivery of enhancements to the product that positioned the offering competitively in the unit-linked market.
Led the largest non-governmental asset transfer programme (>£100bn of assets) for a major UK Insurer and Asset Manager, delivering a regulatory compliant solution on time and to budget whilst managing stakeholders including front office, operations, technology and third-party service providers.
Business efficiency review at a major Bank to deliver cost savings by relocating key trading and structuring businesses in lower cost regions, including strategic design and implementation of new trading operating model combined with front-to- back infrastructure (people, process and technology).
